Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) - Movie Review!!
Hi, my friend, another well-balanced informed review. you are brilliant and hope your love of movies makes your dreams come true!
John Doe's monologue & Satan's monologue from "The Devil's Advocate" are my favorite movie lines. Sad to admit the truth in those.
Don't forget NIN(Nine Inch Nails) movie's theme song titled "Closer" about being closer to GOD!! Brings me back to this brilliant movie every time I hear that song.😅😮 the movie features the precursors remix at the start. Absolutely awesomely brilliant film.
edward scissorhands is the most perfect depiction of someone with only good intentions who can't help but destroy the things he loves/pursues. while scarred faces are usually used to make a character more intimidating, they only make edward feel more helpless - a victim of his own efforts to exist happily
Thanks for the review.
You're welcome. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment
I saw Black Rain, in the theater, back in the day. I loved it so much, I went back to the theater another five times to see it again. 🙂😁 I found the movie fast-paced, well-acted (the raid scene, where Douglas headbutts the one yakuza guy still makes me chuckle... "I only want to talk to him for five minutes...." 🤣🤣🤣), and the film has just the right amount of action and drama. Plus, it's one of those "fish-out-of-water" stories; which I absolutely love. 🙂😁 Anyways, great review; and I agree.....Kate Capshaw was rather hot in this film. 😉😁
*HIGHLY REQUEST: Please react kill 2024 Movie trailer-*
Good Review Kyle! I Would Say This Is The Best Bad Film Yet Then I Would Say Bad Boys For Life Is The Second Best Then Bad Boys l Then Bad Boys ll Kristen Harloff Ranking Is Almost The Same Only He Has The 1st One As His Favourite One Kristen Harloff Gave Me A Personal Shout Out A Couple Of Years Ago! Whilst The First 2 Bad Boys Films Are Fun I Prefer Other Buddy Cop Films Such As Rush Hour And Lethal Weapon And The Last 2 Bad Boys Films Are More like That Than The First 2
Total Recall is such a classic. It draws the line between fantasy and reality and it keeps you guessing. Is it a dream or is it real?
I really liked Kingdom mostly. However, I had a couple of criticisms. I thought Raka’s demise was unnecessary. I think he would have had continuous value to the Kingdom saga if it continues. While the film score carried the move well, It should have been much better. it should have included memorable cues throughout. This was a lost opportunity.
I hate the claims that Furiosa is a "girl boss" leveled mostly by haters who haven't seen the film. Furiosa gets her ass kicked throughout the entire film and is saved by men on numerous occassions. As for her "ridiculous" size, I'd argue that it's far more ridiculous to have huge men with body-building physiques in the food-scarce wastelands than a 100lb. girl. Besides, a franchise filled with monster trucks (in an oil scarce world) driven by guys in S&M gear was already more than a little ridiculous.
Yup, she is not invincible. Loved that about this film. We know if she went toe to toe with Chris Hemsworth, he'd snap her like a twig. Hopefully word of mouth continues to spread about Furiosa! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Also, I made a new Mad Max video where I went back and looked at the previous entries. Let me know your thoughts on that one!
Great retrospective of the mad Max franchise.
Thank you for watching! Appreciate the feedback
@@KyleGauntReviews you're welcome.
Ya man. I loved it too. In a different way than Fury Road but almost equally, which is a testament to how good it is.
Perfect way to describe it - I loved it in a different way, yet a very complimentary way. Thanks for watching and commenting
In the time of "woke", this movie stands alone. Just hard, visceral action!
It's a terrific film and it's unfortunate so many are refusing to see it on the big screen. Thanks for watching and commenting. Please be sure to check out the newest Mad Max video I made and let me know your thought on that!
Loved this review, my guy. You mentioning how C. Thomas Howell will always be Ponyboy Curtis from the Outsiders, is just what I was thinking. He was 17 when he did that film and he was 20 when he did The Hitcher.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for commenting
@@KyleGauntReviews Not a problem, man. I love talking filmography and I love talking about this film.
While it's not the Caesar trilogy, I think this was another great win to this reboot series.
Great Review 👍
Thank you for watching!
Loved it! Gotta say I thought Kevin Durand did such a good job as Proximus his ape affect was top notch and it made his Character Creepy as Shit!
He was a very solid villain! Thx for watching & commenting
Great Review man, I wasn't interested in seeing this film as CGI has been dreadful recently and My local cinema is close to £20 a ticket these days, so going to the cinema to see a mediocre film when I can Just wait and watch on streaming for £5 in 2-3 months just didn't appeal to me, but if it's good as you say then its worth the money. thank you for a great review. :-)
Thanks for watching as always Tony! You should see the film in theaters.
Are you a fan of Independence Day, top gun and bad boys those films are better
I love Independence Day! I like Bad Boys 1, 2 had some moments but I still haven’t seen the 3rd. And I’m not a Top Gun fan sadly. I liked Maverick but just can’t get into the original. Thx for watching tho!
Bad ape for me was an essential element to the success of the film. War is mainly a dark film with great drama. However, bad ape came across as simply a genuine creature with a lighter expression than the other apes. In real life some people are just naturally humorous. They do not try to be but a more funnier than others and also easily frightened than other peoples. So is the case with bad ape. I enjoyed his contribution to the great film.
Upon rewatching it before Kingdom, my thoughts on him have softened. I still think it's a bit too goofy toward the end but it's improved for me. Thanks for watching. What did you think of Kingdom?
🙏
Thanks for watching & commenting
Its important to acknowledge, the same man who brought us Batman & Beetlejuice brought us this original film. The remake is on the way. Have you sern the Trailer?
Remake? Of Edward Scissorhands??
I’m so sad they didn’t do these rereleases near me
Only 467 theaters - you'd think they'd do a wide release. I'd say they've learned their lesson with the amount the first 2 made.
I saw Spider-Man 2 in theaters when I was 10 years old. 2004 was a great year for me, and this movie was the best thing to happen that year. Seeing it again 20 years later (in Long Island mind you) with a fully packed theater was like I was back in 2004. I mean it man. I was grinning and waving my fist at the action scenes, and taking in the emotional scenes more so than I did when I was 10. I can’t wait to catch Spider-Man 3 next week to go back to 2007 for a night.
That Long Island crowd must've been roaring!
cool
thank you
@@KyleGauntReviews welcome
Hey do you like the first transformers film from 2007
Yes I do. I remember seeing it when it first came out. The sequels….we can do without.
Your review here is SPOT ON. Well done.
Haha thanks for watching & commenting!
i thought it was rubbish... when the 4 idiots run into the situation with armed men and a dumpster full of bodies... utterly stupid...
There could’ve been so much development of the characters that just is not there. It felt like missed opportunity after missed opportunity. Thank you for watching and commenting however
Its more a movie about journalism then politics. And I think not making the politics obvious does help with that theme. But it tries to hide the politics so much from the viewer its off-putting.
It's strange how neither the journalists or the politics are interesting. All of it is so surface level
Gritty, dirty, depessing.new york then, and now. you are extremely rich, and live about the filth or your poor and live " down in it"
It’s the cycle of life sadly.
Wait -- so they see an opportunity to interview the sole dictator of the United States before the war ends, and this is not enough of a motivation for you?
I think it's the fact I kept asking myself - why them? These people specifically? What is it about them that makes them stand above the rest. The narrative structure of the characters is all wrong in the beginning. And SPOILERS - at the end, they don't even get to interview him. So it just makes the journey boring. But that's just me. I'm happy you liked it more!
Brilliant movie. Great stuff.
Glad to hear you enjoyed. Thanks for commenting
37 hours?!?! 😮😱❤👏👏 Extremely talented team!💯🤗 Kudos and Congrats to all involved! xx #abbieattaya 🌹
Why thank you Abbie! We were certainly down to the wire
I love that no matter what people have to say about this movie ALL of us think Plemons was the highlight. Crazy that he wasn't even supposed to be in the movie to begin with.
That's so crazy, you would think he was always in the filmmaker's mind to play such a role! Thanks for watch Marianna.
Disscount Matt Daemon is a winner for sure!
Yup, Jesse Plemmons is always a good sign! Thanks for watching & commenting
I used to debate it back and forth without a real conclusion. But for me its summed up with Melina's image at Recall. The only way they would have her image is if its a dream. But he dreamed about her before he went to Recall. The only way thats possible is if its real, and he is getting glimpes of his erased memory. I think they intentionally made it impossible to come to a rational conclusion, so thats my opinion. There is conflicting evidence that makes both options impossible. Plus the premise of the ego trip is nonsensical. If the implanted memories are "as real as any memory in your head," having 2 weeks of your life where you think you were a sports hero might cause some Schizophrenia. Coming home from vacation to your loving wife, after killing her a few days ago... might cause some lasting trauma. Its an amazing movie that Ive seen dozens of times over the last 30 years, but it doesnt warrant this kind of deep thought.
It was based on book 📖 called we can remember it for you wholesale. On the book it was real and the the memories recall going to plant on him also really happened. In the movie they need to make changes. Let the viewers decide what really happened? Was he dreaming or was it real?
I enjoy the ambiguity more. What do you think? Dream or reality?
@@KyleGauntReviews just based on my review. I think it was real. He really went to mars. The best evidence was the doctor claiming they never planted the memory.
I think there is definitely some magic in this. I have watched this 4 times since college days when it was new. Every time I was absorbed and emotional. In fact they were Johnny depp eyes that made this movie
I just want to underdtand the ending so the guy was already dead but brain was connected to machine , but at the end he sends a message to the lady who's been controlling his mission asking her to save him , so did he create a time loop where he basically saves him self , or an alternative reality.
This has been my favorite Tim Burton movie since I was a kid and it still is as an adult
You do such a great job at explaining and presenting these videos. Great vid!
I sincerely appreciate hearing this
Coffey is my is my favorite of that era, but this film is a close second.

@@KyleGauntReviews no worries Kyle my friend. Yeah that would be great, but yeah do it, when you’ve got enough time mate.👍
Great video Kyle. What a film this is. I forgot how good the cast was in this film. It’s stacked. Really cool film. Awesome stuff mate.👍
